PrEP Aware Week is October 25th through October 31st
Brooklyn is PrEP'd!, a joint collaborative between SUNY Downstate HEAT Program and TBHC PATH Center, is a proud presenter of this year’s NYSDOH PrEP Aware Week (PAW 2021). Throughout PrEP Week we will host events educating the community about PrEP and increased accessibility, so that all New Yorkers can live and love freely, without the risk of HIV.
This year we welcome two PrEP Ambassadors, Jair and Zenobia, as they share their personal and compelling reasons for PrEP use. They’ve proudly agreed to share their stories in hopes of inspiring others and de-stigmatizing PrEP and sexuality.
PrEP is a once-daily medication that prevents HIV when taken correctly. Due to the pandemic, PrEP use has declined for the first time since FDA approval in 2012. The PAW 2021 initiative aims to ramp up PrEP education and support CBO efforts to engage communities, ensuring barrier-free access to PrEP initiation.
